It is essential that all applicants have a minimum of 3 years UK banking or similar financial institution experience.

Our client is looking for a Relationship Manager, Loans Syndication person to join their team on a permanent basis.

Role:

The successful candidate will take a leading role with the team head in growing and delivering the expansion plan in developing new relationships within different assets class i.e. M&A, IG and PF. The team currently focuses on developing business opportunities with both UK domestic and European businesses.

The role will entail assisting the Loan Origination & Syndication desk in sourcing new business opportunities and marketing, with a focus on large cap investment grade corporate clients, participating in syndicated loans, underwriting transactions and provide value-adding solutions to clients. The desk has also the ability to build its own ad hoc book in line current risk appetite.

Key Responsibilities (but not limited to):

  • The primary role of the RM is to work with Team Head to market and bring on board qualifying business opportunities in line with budget, risk appetite, risk return measures, policies, procedures, regulations and strategy.
  • The RM will act as the first contact of the bank in building clients’ relationship (Banks, FAs and Sponsors), participating in syndicated loans, underwriting transactions, negotiating terms with counterparties and providing the full range of the bank’s global capabilities to the bank’s clients.
  • Assisting Team Head for the marketing, client meeting, preparing pitches, presentations, etc. as required. 
  • Preparing credit applications, including customer credit risk analysis, business risk analysis, financial modelling, financial risk analysis, to present to credit committees.
  • On-going reporting & monitoring of clients, including both quarterly & annual reviews, financial covenants review, waiver request processing and overall post loan monitoring. 
  • The key goal of the Team is to ensure that the client is able to develop client relationships whilst managing credit risk and meeting regulatory requirements. They do this by working closely with Risk, Legal, Compliance and relevant departments for risk analysis, KYC, loan documentation preparation as well as other Front Office departments both in the UK and globally.
  • Maintaining a keen interests and awareness of market trends in international business including trends and events in the UK and European corporate banking market.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

  • Applicants should have a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in banking or related finance industry.
  • Solid credit management experience within Corporate Banking.
  • A good understanding of corporate financing activities and products and services.
  • Working knowledge of EU Syndicated Loans.
  • Good understanding of Credit Risk and Corporate Financial Analysis.
  • Good ability to understand corporate financing structures and loan documentation.
  • A high level of attention to detail, including the ability to accurately interpret legal clauses and LMA loan documentation.
