About the company

My client is one of the best self-delivering and management Civil Engineering, Tier One Main Contractors in the UK. They are currently operating at a turnover of £850M PA and have gained a brilliant reputation across the UK working on some of the largest and most prestigious projects. Some of the projects they have worked on have been Thames Tideway Tunnel, London City Airport expansion, HS2, and the Olympic Park. The types of works they are famous for range from groundworks, RC structures, major earthworks, deep drainage, marine works, and piling. With regards to the companies’ staff, they don’t tend to leave them! The company staff turnover is very low and this is due to the development their staff receive, as well as the opportunity to work on some of the best, technically challenging, and exciting civil engineering projects.

About the role

Due to ongoing growth and lots of tenders my client is now looking for an Estimator to join their Pre-Construction team. They are looking for somebody who is interested in a long-term opportunity and willing to progress their career. Ideally, they are looking for somebody to Manage tenders from inception to submission, lead and manage Post tender negotiations as well as monitor the stages of a project to ensure that costs are kept in line with forecasts. You will be responsible for tenders valued between £1M - £10M. It’s vital that you are somebody who strives for continuous improvement within the estimating process and your area of responsibility. The types of works you will be working on will involve power, civil engineering, and multi-utility projects.

Benefits and Rewards

You will be rewarded with a basic salary ranging from £55,000 - £70,000 + a car allowance and 28 days of annual leave. As previously mentioned, you will be joining a client who is looking to grow and develop a long-term team within this region, this will offer long-term opportunities to grow with the business. They also have a brilliantly, technically gifted team, this means you will be working with some of the industry’s best, helping you improve on your technical ability.

Requirements

You’ll be required to have a good standard of education preferably to Foundation Degree level (HND,HNC) in a Construction, Civils, Business or equivalent qualification.

It is important to have experience working within civil engineering as an Estimator, ideally within the utility industry, and to show good stability at the companies you have worked for.

I’m open to someone who has worked for a utility contractor or civil engineering contractor, as long as they are UK-based.
