Zapsa LTD are a specialist Talent Acquisition Consultancy working in the Renewable Energy, Environmental, IT, and Sustainability sectors. Our client is a vertically integrated renewable energy company based in Exeter. Due to growth, they are currently on the hunt for an experienced SHEQ/Quality Manager to join their team.

About the Role

As a Quality Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that all aspects of construction projects adhere to established quality standards, regulations, and client specifications. Your primary focus will be on maintaining and improving the overall quality of construction processes and deliverables. You will collaborate with project teams, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to implement effective quality management systems and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality Assurance: Develop and implement a comprehensive quality assurance program for civil construction projects.
Establish and communicate quality standards and procedures to project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with quality requirements.

Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation related to quality control activities.
Ensure that construction activities adhere to relevant industry standards, building codes, and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with regulatory bodies to obtain necessary approvals and certifications.

Supplier and Subcontractor Management: Evaluate and approve suppliers and subcontractors based on their quality management capabilities.
Conduct regular assessments and audits of suppliers and subcontractors to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Provide feedback and work collaboratively to address and resolve quality issues with external partners.

Quality Improvement Initiatives: Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in construction processes and quality management systems.
Implement corrective and preventive actions to address non-conformities and improve overall project quality.
Facilitate training programs to enhance the quality awareness and skills of project teams.

Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate quality considerations into project planning and execution.
Communicate effectively with clients to understand and address their quality expectations.
Facilitate regular quality review meetings and provide updates on quality performance.

About You

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in quality management within the civil construction industry.
  • Exposure to ground mount solar projects would be advantageous
  • In-depth knowledge of construction materials, methods, and quality standards.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations and codes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Certifications in quality management (e.g., Six Sigma, ISO 9001)
