FINTEC recruit is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer for our international engineering client based in Aberdeen.  This is a permanent role with salary up to circa £60,000 plus benefits.  Involved in supporting for new product design for commercial and defence markets primarily, wide ranging projects.  Working as a Technical Lead for the engineering team.

Responsibilities:

• Provide engineering design input to new systems and products and technical  solutions and through life engineering support.
• Liaison and supporting clients with existing request on upgrades and modifications to equipment /products as well as liaison with internal teams
• Manage, coordinate and mentor a small engineering team with setting objectives, creating development planning and staff appraisals.
• Create engineering documentation eg  specifications, proposals, assembly instructions, test procedures and checking detailed drawings
• Adhere to company standards, regulations and policies

Skills and Experience required for the Senior Mechanical Engineer role:-

• Proven mechanical design skills, design calculations and design standards; experience of manufacturing techniques
• Knowledge of gas and fluid systems and Pressure vessel design skills using PD5500, ASME VIII, EN 13445
• Knowledge of industry guidelines and relevant Codes, Standards and Regulations and procedures (Lloyds, DNV, ABS, DEFSTAN, MIL-STD)
• Knowledge of testing methods.
• Knowledge of Engineering Analysis programs (ANSYS Workbench, MathCAD, Finglow) and using Solidworks.
• Experience with Product Lifecycle Management system for generating and storage of engineering packages.
• Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent industry experience.
• Hold UK Driving Licence
