Responsibilities:

• Plan and prepare well-balanced and flavoursome meals for residents, considering their dietary restrictions and individual preferences.
• Create diverse and appealing menus that meet the nutritional needs of seniors.
• Ensure timely food preparation while maintaining impeccable standards of kitchen hygiene and cleanliness.
• Collaborate with care home staff to understand residents' dietary requirements and preferences.
• Monitor and maintain food inventory, placing ingredient orders as necessary.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations, ensuring proper handling and storage of food.
• Stay updated with industry trends and techniques to continuously enhance culinary skills.
• Train and supervise kitchen staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
• Maintain a positive rapport with residents, accommodating their requests and ensuring a delightful dining experience.

Requirements:

MUST HAVE 

Training requirements - Enhanced DBS, IDDSI, Cookery Qualification

• Proven experience working as a Chef, preferably in a care home, hospital, or similar setting.
• Strong knowledge of nutrition and dietary requirements for seniors.
• Ability to create balanced and appealing menus catering to various dietary needs.
• Excellent culinary skills, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing dietary requirements and preferences.
• Ability to manage time efficiently and meet deadlines.
• A compassionate and patient nature, with a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for seniors.
