Role Overview:

We are seeking a talented and experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design for M&E projects and be proficient in creating innovative and efficient designs. This role includes general estimating duties and offers the flexibility to work from home, with occasional travel to our Birmingham office and project sites in Hull.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing detailed mechanical designs for projects in the retail, industrial, and education sectors.
  • Preparing design calculations, drawings, and specifications.
  • Reviewing project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to ensure compliance with design requirements.
  • Collaborating with project managers, engineers, and other team members to deliver high-quality designs.
  • Participating in site visits to gather information and assess project needs.
  • Assisting in the preparation of cost estimates and bids.
  • Ensuring designs meet all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Providing technical support during the construction phase of projects.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer in the M&E sector.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, design principles, and construction methods.
  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and other relevant tools.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to Birmingham and Hull as required.
