Job Title:         RF Test Engineer

Salary:             up to £60,000 per annum dependent upon experience

Location:         Cheltenham

Our client is looking for an experienced RF Test Engineer to join their team just outside of Cheltenham. Established more than 60 years ago, they are the partner of choice for aerospace customers and OEM’s around the world supporting and supplying established aircraft parts.

The RF Test Engineer will join the team to support their continued success and ambitious growth plans. This is a permanent position working Monday- Friday with flexible start/ finish times, working a 37 hour week. Please note that the post holder would be expected on site full time, there is no hybrid working available with this role.

Main Responsibilities:

• Reporting to the Electronics Sustainment Manager, you will be responsible for Production Test Support on a variety of both RF and Electronic products.
• You'll be required to confidently use a variety of laboratory equipment including Oscilloscopes, Power Meters, VNAs and Signal Generators.
• You will be required to evaluate legacy test methods that require use of obsolete equipment and derive and validate new methods that use up-to-date equipment.
• You'll use your knowledge and expertise to evaluate the suitability of existing test equipment calibration methods and suggest improvements.
• The company is continuously growing their product portfolio through acquisition and licencing and, as such, you will be required to support the Project Management Office in introducing these new product lines.
• Some overseas travel may be required on occasion.

About You:

• You'll ideally have experience in evaluating S-Parameters, Power, Leakage/ Isolation, Noise and Losses in a RF systems and components such as Transmitters, Receivers, Mixers, Downconverters, Filters and Amplifiers.
• You will be able to read circuit diagrams and product performance specifications and confidently translate these requirements to Test Specifications.
• You will also be able to troubleshoot or evaluate the performance of RF cables, splitters, attenuators, loads for correct performance within the test equipment setup.
