Pay Rate: £27.84 per hour

Hours: Full-time. Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm

Main Duties of the Virtual School Teacher:

  • Provide focused educational casework for a designated group of looked-after children and young people, ensuring they receive appropriate services and interventions through multi-disciplinary collaboration.
  • Implement the education vision for the Virtual School, aligning with local, regional, and national priorities, legislation, and best practices, with a strong focus on raising educational standards for looked-after children and young people.
  • Provide guidance and support to the Virtual School team on key priorities within your area/age group of specialization.
  • Ensure high-quality Personal Education Plans are developed and maintained within agreed timelines for all looked-after children and young people within your area of responsibility, ensuring effective use of pupil premium funds in accordance with local authority policy.
  • Engage in direct work with children and young people in educational settings, the community, and at home/placement to fully address their educational needs and identify any barriers. This includes observation, mentoring, and tuition as appropriate, involving travel across the country to where the children are placed.

Applicant Requirements of the Virtual School Teacher:

  • University degree with a minimum grade of 2:2.
  • At least 1 year of post-graduate teaching experience in the UK.
  • Proof of eligibility to work and reside in the UK, Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), and a current DBS check.
  • A clean UK driving license and the ability to commute independently.
