About the role:

Okay, we’ve waffled long enough. So let’s get to the good bit: You. 

Reporting to the Global Tax and Financial Controller and with the support from Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable team, the Tax & Treasury Manager will manage and run all tax processes, compliance and advisory work, direct cashflow activities and all Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities

Location: Hybrid working; a mix of working from our London or Bristol office & working remotely 

Employment type: Fixed term for 12 months (please note, you must have the right to work in the UK)

Requirements

What you’ll be doing at Elvie:

  • Managing the AP and AR teams
  • Providing support to the Financial controller for month end/year end Tax, AP and AR activities aligning with the organisation timetable  
  • Owning the tax compliance and payments calendar
  • Managing f/x requirements
  • Management of all day to day banking activities including the HIF and trade facility with support from the financial control team where relevant
  • Managing direct cashflow and short term cashflow forecasting and reviewing the forecast to actuals weekly
  • Working with the financial control cash accountant where relevant to ensure cash position is correctly reflected in the balance sheet
  • Managing all payments to suppliers with support from AP team
  • Preparing/inputting into monthly reporting packs where relevant
  • Ensuring management of the tax balance sheet, trade creditor and trade debtor accounts
  • Acting as the primary go to person for all tax queries globally and, with support from the Global Tax & Financial Controller, advising the business accordingly
  • Preparing/supporting 3rd parties to prepare all tax returns globally and ensuring all payments are made to the relevant tax authorities
  • Collaborating with the HR to support 3rd party payroll tax providers
  • Liaising with 3rd party tax advisors and managing the planning and delivery of tax compliance alongside the Global Tax and Financial Controller
  • Liaising with tax authorities globally and, with support from the Global Tax and Financial Controller, managing audits and queries from the tax authorities in a timely manner
  • Supporting the Global Tax and Financial Controller in researching tax issues and writing papers on any required changes
  • Coordinating the preparation of the tax notes for the statutory accounts for all entities in accordance with the relevant accounting principles and the legislation of the countries in which they operate
  • Finance lead for the the P2P process improvement project to create a single organisation wide controlled P2P process
  • Embed and own all tax and direct cash related controls and ensure these are documented, tested and operated
  • Support the Group Tax and Financial Controller with adhoc queries, issues and requests
  • Supporting the wider finance team in forecasting and other adhoc projects including business casing, fundraising, board reporting, and implementation of new ERP & BI tool

What we are looking for:

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
  • Ideally a minimum of 2 years post-qualified experience in tax accounting, in particular, sales taxes
  • Experience of working with 3rd party tax advisors and tax authorities is desirable
  • Cash management experience including managing relationships with banks at an operational level is desirable
  • Retail/ecommerce experience is desirable
  • Love the idea of working in a fast-paced start-up environment 
  • Desire to learn fast and challenge yourself
  • Be confident in data handling & analysis in a non-interfaced system environment;
  • Determination to resolve issues and achieve objectives
  • Strong written communication and interpersonal skills
