Salary: £160 - £210 per day

The School/role:

I am working with a an amazing PRU (Pupil Referral Unit) based in Birmingham that is seeking for passionate and resilient SEMH Teachers to join their team. This fantastic Specialist Centre is for Students aged between 11-16 who are unable to attend their mainstream provision because of medical reasons. The school strives to provide the best quality teaching and learning with an inclusive and personalised curriculum. This is a full-time post and will run until the end of the academic year.

The candidate for this role will be experienced supporting children alongside children with a range of different academic attainment levels. It is essential that these students have a SEMH Teacher to act as a positive role model as well as good academic knowledge to provide lesson support. This will require patience, commitment and the ability to provide a safe and welcoming learning environment.

The team within the school are very supportive and will help you along the way. The staff in the school aim to give the best possible educational experience for their students. This job opportunity is very fulfilling for people who have teaching assistant experience.

A new enhanced DBS will be needed for this role or a subscription to the DBS update service.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teaching Assistant OR Relevant SEN Background
  • PECS and Makaton training/experience
  • SEMH, SEBD needs experience
  • Level 1 safeguarding certificate
  • Recent school based references
  • Valid Photo ID – Driving Licence or passport
  • Full DBS – on the update service
