Senior CHC Retrospective Nurse Assessor

Medical Staffing have an exciting opportunity for a Senior CHC Retrospective Nurse Assessor based in the West Midlands.

The purpose of this role is to support the clinical lead in developing systems and processes for the delivery of the NHS Continuing Healthcare policy.  Managing a caseload of patients and presenting cases to the panel.

Our ideal candidate will have the ability to make operational judgements and resolve conflicting views.

Cross site working – car is necessary

Pay Rate

£40.00 per hour

Working Hours

Monday – Friday 09.00-17.00

Role Responsibilities

• To undertake retrospective assessments of patient  eligibility of Continuing Healthcare
• To review Care Plans and feedback any concerns regarding quality and safety. 
• To undertake NHS Continuing Healthcare checklists
• To be part of and coordinate a full multi-disciplinary review of the DST in line with current policy and guidance based on the National Framework for NHS Continuing Healthcare and Funding Nursing Care and Retrospective review guidance.
• Assisting the Case manager for Continuing Healthcare with resolution of complaints, appeals and disputes
• Working with members of the team to investigate the causes of any variance from target/plan and proactively contribute to the implementation of solutions

Our Ideal Candidate:

• NMC Registration
• Registered Nurse Degree qualification, equivalent qualification or equivalent level of skill, knowledge and experience.
• Post Graduate or educated to masters level (desirable)
• Demonstrate experience in assessing patients, having completed a checklist and/or participated in a Multi-Disciplinary team meeting using the National Framework for Continuing Healthcare.

• Experience of undertaking retrospective CHC assessments
• Excellent understanding and working knowledge of National Framework of NHS Continuing Healthcare
• Right to work within the UK

• Fulfil the compliance requirements, including those related to DBS, Occupational Health, and an updated CV
