Estimator

Due to our continued growth and success we now require an experienced Estimator or junior estimator to join our friendly team to compile estimates on the costs of projects, and track spend throughout the project lifecycle.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Examine and analyse tender documentation in order to prepare time, cost, materials and labour estimates.
  • Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops.
  • Consult with clients, suppliers, personnel in internal departments and site personnel to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
  • Confer with relevant personnel on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
  • Prepare estimates used by management for purposes such as planning, organising and scheduling work.
  • Produce analytically priced Bill of Quantities.
  • Prepare Preliminaries.
  • Prepare estimates for use in selecting suppliers or subcontractors.
  • Review material and labour requirements to decide whether it is more cost effective to produce or purchase components.
  • Prepare cost and expenditure statements and other necessary documentation at regular intervals throughout the duration of the project.
  • Establish and maintain the tendering process and conduct negotiations.
  • Ensure effective handover of tender to construction team.
  • Complete all administration tasks in a timely, accurate and legible manner.

Hours and Environment

Full Time - 9:00am to 5:30pm, Monday to Thursday and 9:00am to 5:00pm on Friday. 

Qualifications & Experience

The following are required:

GCSE English (or equivalent).

GCSE Maths (or equivalent).

Knowledge of MS Office, Excel, Project and Word, and causeway software (desirable however not essential) 

Experience of Estimating in Construction Management or an interior product / or the ability to quickly learn and understand the role of Estimator.

Experience of managing budgets and plans.

The ability to read an understand technical drawings and understand technical drawings and architect’s plans and interpret their content and technical specification.
