Job Title: Mechanical Engineer
Location: Redditch
Hours: 10pm to 6:30am / Monday to Friday
Salary: £46,000 per annum - including shift allowance

Our client, a leading food manufacturing company, is seeking to recruit an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Redditch. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the company's current buildings, plant, and machinery to high standards.

Your day-to-day duties will include the following:

* Carrying out corrective maintenance on plant machinery and services quickly and efficiently to ensure minimal machinery downtime.
* Performing planned maintenance as scheduled to prevent unplanned downtime.
* Effectively communicating with other engineering shifts and production supervisors regarding breakdowns and malfunctions.
* Ensuring fault logs are kept up to date and any outstanding faults are handed over to the next shift.
* Conducting regular checks to ensure all machinery and services are in optimal working order.
* Ensuring all work is compliant with Engineering department policies, procedures, and Health and Safety regulations.
* Completing all documentation accurately and in a timely manner.

You will need the following skills and experience:

* Mechanical Engineer qualification or relevant experience in a similar role.
* Previous experience in the food manufacturing industry is highly desirable.
* Proficiency in working with processing equipment, packaging equipment, conveying systems, Refrigeration and HVAC Systems, automation, and control systems.
* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* A proactive approach to maintenance and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
