£55,000 - £70,000/annum

Involve Recruitment are in search of a Quantity Surveyor / Estimator for our client a construction and civil engineering contractor. As a Quantity Surveyor / Estimator, you will play a crucial role in managing costs and ensuring the financial success of construction projects. Your expertise in cost control and project management will contribute to the overall success of our organization.

Duties:

  • Prepare cost estimates and budgets for construction projects
  • Conduct feasibility studies to assess project viability
  • Analyze project specifications and drawings to determine accurate quantities of materials required
  • Source and evaluate subcontractors and suppliers
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with subcontractors and suppliers
  • Monitor project costs throughout the construction process
  • Prepare progress reports and provide updates on cost variations
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement risk management strategies
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices

Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or similar role working with Reinforced Concrete
  • Strong knowledge of cost control principles and techniques
  • Proficient in using computer software for quantity takeoff, estimating, and cost management
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
