Sports Teaching Assistant | Birmingham, B6 | £85 - £100 per day | September 2024 start

We're looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant for the Sports department in one of our esteemed mainstream Primary schools situated in the Aston/Holford area. You will play a crucial role in promoting physical activity, health, and wellbeing among students that benefit from a high-quality physical education.

As a Sports TA, you can expect to:

• Assist in organising and conducting PE classes, which may include setting up equipment, demonstrating exercises or techniques, and providing support to students during activities.
• Work 1:1 with students that may have SEN, adapting activities to suit individual needs, or offering motivation and support.
• Be responsible for maintaining facilities and sports equipment, ensuring everything is in good condition and ready for use, carrying out equipment checks and reporting and maintenance issues.
• Promote Health and Fitness, leading warm-up exercises, discussing the importance of physical activity and healthy lifestyles choices.
• Monitor student progress, observing performance and offering feedback, and keeping records of achievement and participation.

An ideal candidate will:

• Hold a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Supporting PE and School Sport, or equivalent.
• Have 12 month's experience working with children, particularly in a sports or physical education setting.
• Have experience leading 1:1 or group interventions (desirable).
