Role - Health and Safety Coordinator
Location- Wolverhampton
(responsible for 3 sites, but 90% Wolverhampton)
Salary- £35k-£40k + perm benefits
Your role as a Health and Safety Coordinator
You will be working for a well-established organisation and this Is a brand new role within the business. As a Health and Safety Coordinator, you will report into the Health and Safety Business Partner and support them in continuous improvement of health and safety practices.
Due to the nature of the business, the ideal candidate will have experience of Health and Safety from a manufacturing background.
You will be part of an exciting team with a fantastic culture. The group have 4000 employees globally and facilities in 17 countries.
Your duties and responsibilities as a Health and Safety Coordinator:

  • Work alongside the line management and operational teams to continually improve the safety of the working environment, appropriately identifying and assessing risk, and developing and delivering effective mitigation strategies.
  • Drive a programme of works to create and advance of culture of safety management and positive interdependent safety behaviour within all levels of the organisation
  • Support the development and delivery of the implementation of Group Safety Standards alongside the H&S Business Partner
  • Monitor the business's compliance with Health and Safety Policy and procedures and formally advise managers on areas of non-compliance
  • Working within the division's health and safety management team, appropriately support all sites and teams within the business, and provide direction and development to team members
  • Maintain and advance the division's Health and Safety Management System, including policies, arrangements and procedures where required
  • Manage and support health and safety training needs, covering behavioural, practical and managerial safety aspects, including direct delivery of training where applicable.
  • Ensure that all accidents and near misses are reported and investigated in accordance with the company's policies.
  • Support health and safety committees and steer positive conversations surrounding safety topics
  • Maintain and manage safety reporting to the Senior Management Team
  • Conduct internal audits, work place inspections and health & safety tours.


To be successful in your role, you should have the following skills and experience:
Essential skills:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate qualified
  • Approachable & Personable manner
  • Experience in investigating incidents
  • Strong influencer
  • Good communicator across all levels
  • Ability to translate health & safety knowledge into actions
  • Experience of developing and promoting a positive Health & Safety culture

Desirable skills:

  • Technical Membership with IOSH (TechIOSH)
  • Multiple site experience
  • Manufacturing background
  • Training/Workshop design and delivery
  • Experience in developing, writing and leading on Mental Health and Wellbeing policies and procedures
