My client is a successful, well established M&E Contractor based in Birmingham who are well respected in the industry. They are currently enjoying continued growth and expansion and are looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team. As a business, they offer a nationwide service from concept to final installation, specialising in the design, installation and maintenance of heating, air conditioning, ventilation, drainage, plumbing and electrical solutions for the High End Residential sector, Hotels, Care Homes, Student Accommodation, Leisure and Commercial sectors.

Due to continued growth, they are now currently seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join their dynamic team in Birmingham.

The Role: 

As the successful Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for producing designs for Heating, Ventilation, Conditioning and plumbing works.

Responsibilities include:

  • Prepare Designs as appropriate and be able to carry out competent designs in accordance with standards and guidelines
  • Prepare drawings hand drawn or PDF markups to allow Revit / CAD engineers to produce the model / drawings for installation
  • Carry out calculations using the Design Portal
  • Organise monthly catchup meetings with Contract Engineers assigned to their projects
  • Identify training requirements to continue professional development
  • Assist with Training of apprentices
  • Assist contracts team during project installations
  • Attend design meetings maintaining communication levels with all design team
  • Identify design risks whilst carrying out design and inform the design team
  • Carry out tasks complying with Company Management Policy and Quality Systems
  • Carry out tasks in line Company Strategy
