Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Provision of surveying expertise including taking a lead role on projects in the delivery of the practice’s service to its clients.

To produce estimates for construction schemes with minimal supervision.

To produce tender documents for construction schemes with minimal supervision, including the preparation of contract documentation.

To prepare valuations, financial statements and produce and agree final accounts with contractors for construction works with minimal supervision.

To undertake all works in accordance with the practice’s QA procedures

To utilise and develop the practice’s computerised systems.

To negotiate and resolve disputes with contractors as and when they arise in accordance with the guidance laid down by the RICS.

To work in a team, or as directed lead a team in undertaking the practice’s      business.

Undertake liaison with other members of the construction team to co-ordinate the efficient and timely production of information and documentation.

To comply with existing and future legislation relating to the work being undertaken.

To comply with the practice’s Health & Safety Policy.

To represent the practice at meetings when called upon to do so.

To represent and promote the Practice at all times.

Type of Experience:

Minimum of two year post qualification experience. Previous experience working with Government, or Local Authority funded bodies is desirable.

Qualifications:

Minimum BSc in Quantity Surveying along with MRICS membership of Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors desirable.

Contact with People:

The post holder will have contact with the practice’s clients and other members of the construction team at a senior level.

Accountability:

Responsible for the financial control of significant/substantial budgets working under the minimal supervision of the Partner in charge of the scheme.

Managerial and Supervisory Responsibility:

Responsible for ensuring the quality of junior staffs work. At times will be required to work as team leader on small team on projects.

The post holder will be a team player capable of working to strict deadlines. With a flexible approach to financial management.
