The Opportunity

We have an opportunity for a highly motivated Team Leader to work at our flagship concrete products site at Hulland Ward.

Hulland Ward manufactures a wide variety of Concrete Products for the DIY and Construction sectors.

The site is divided into several manufacturing units, employing in the region of 200 people and is the largest Precast Concrete manufacturing site in the UK.

As a Team Leader you will effectively manage the Health, Safety and Welfare of the employees within the team, fully complying with all company standards, HSE legislation and values of Zero Harm at all times. You will behave in line with our FREDIE principles (Fairness, Respect, Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Engagement) to deliver the production plan within agreed standard costs.

You’ll oversee the continual improvement of site practices to include manufacturing cost reductions and will be involved with the site PPM scheme and effective maintenance scheduling.

You will maintain product quality standards, identifying and reacting to all non-conformances to promote and deliver continuous improvement. You will also have responsibility for the day-to-day management of all Factory Operatives within the team to promote good working relationships within the team to develop and maintain effective working relationships with all other factory teams.

What will you bring?

  • You will have prior experience in supervising a production shift team.
  • Experience in Safety, Health and Environment is desirable.
  • A real passion for developing yourself and others whilst contributing as part of a wider team.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplined environment to deliver productivity and cost improvements.
  • Strong Communication skills with the ability to build effective working relationships with others.
  • Strong customer focus with the willingness to find solutions.
  • Self-motivation and initiative to take decisions.
  • Previous experience of working within a manufacturing environment.
